Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB)
Weight-loss surgery known as the laparoscopic adjustable gastric band (LAGB) is one such procedure. Bariatric surgery is another name for weight-loss surgery. Laparoscopic surgery is used, and only a few tiny incisions are made in the upper abdomen. A flexible band is wrapped around the top of the stomach by the surgeon. This results in a little stomach pouch. Because of the narrow stomach pouch, you will feel satisfied with less food.

Why it’s done?
The treatment for extreme obesity is LAGB. For those who have tried alternative weight loss techniques without long-term success, it is encouraged. If you have a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or above and are extremely obese, your doctor might recommend LAGB. If you have a BMI of 35 to 40 and a medical issue like sleep apnea, high blood pressure, heart disease, or type 2 diabetes, your doctor might also suggest it to you.
